I've recently read a post from an excellent photographer.
He was asking "what is a real photographer".
[link]People started to write back "it's someone who take picture with his heart..." or they talk about the camera itself.
Here is my answer, in my bad English...
"A photographer?
Well, if you see a guy with a camera, compact or DSLR.
Then you may exclaim : "Look! A photographer!" (or a tourist)
For me a photographer is someone with knowledge. All photographer have to know about aperture, exposure and senor/film sensitivity.
When he knows this, he IS a photographer.
Someone just pushing the shutter button in full automatic mode on a camera or simply touching the screen of an iphone, aren't photographer they are just tourist.
Material don't make the photographer, knowledge makes the difference.
(sorry for my English...)"
What do you think about it?
And what is a "real" photographer for you?
